On the call, HIAS President and CEO Mark Hetfield, Vice President for Policy and Advocacy Melanie Nezer and Vice President for Community Engagement Rabbi Jennie Rosenn briefed participants on several key items related to the current state of the refugee crisis.
Among the topics discussed were the outcomes of the recent U.N. and White House refugee summits, the major role that the refugee issue has played in the 2016 election, and the Jewish community’s increasing efforts to speak out for better treatment of refugees.
