HIAS’ 2023 Community Virtual Candle Lighting

When the world feels especially dark, we can come together to bring in the light. Join HIAS for a community candle lighting on the first night of Hanukkah.  

Gathering together for a moment of shared reflection, song, and light, we’ll hear from activists across the country who help make a difference for refugees in their communities. This is an opportunity for advocates, volunteers, and supporters to come together to acknowledge the work we are doing as a community, and to shine a light of welcome for the refugees, immigrants, and asylum seekers still on their journeys to safety.   

Get your menorah ready, and join us to celebrate a reconnection and rededication to our values of welcome, dignity, and freedom for all. 

Cuando el mundo se siente especialmente oscuro, podemos unirnos para traer la luz. Únete a HIAS para encender una vela comunitaria en la primera noche de Hanukkah.

Al reunirnos en un momento de reflexión compartida, canciones y luz, escucharemos a activistas de todo el país que ayudan a marcar la diferencia para los refugiados en sus comunidades. Esta es una oportunidad para que las personas defensoras, voluntarias y simpatizantes se reúnan para reconocer el trabajo que estamos haciendo como comunidad, y para encender una luz de bienvenida para las personas refugiadas, inmigrantes y solicitantes de asilo que aún se encuentran en su travesía hacia la seguridad.
