Statement on Launch of CEO Search

Founded over 120 years ago, HIAS became the world’s oldest refugee organization through its resilience in adapting to an ever-changing environment. In that spirit, we are pleased to be launching a search for a new CEO to lead our organization into its next era. While the search is underway, we are fortunate to have David Weiss, formerly of Global Communities, serving as interim CEO. Mark Hetfield, after serving twelve years as President and CEO, has taken on the role of President and will continue to play a key leadership role at the organization and support HIAS and the Jewish community in advocating for the rights of refugees and forcibly displaced people around the world.  For more information, see this link.
