More than 120 million people — a number higher than the population of Egypt — are displaced, creating more urgency for HIAS’ work than ever before. In 2023, HIAS responded to fresh crises in Sudan and Israel while continuing its work of resettling refugees in the United States and providing services to refugees, asylum seekers, and displaced people around the world.
HIAS services reached 2.3 million people in 2023, with hundreds of thousands receiving access to emergency response, food distribution, cash distribution, and child protection services.
