#JewsForRefugees Assembly to Unite Hundreds of Advocates in D.C.
Mar 27, 2017
WASHINGTON—This Wednesday, March 29, 2017, hundreds of advocates will gather at Adas Israel Congregation to demonstrate the overwhelming support for welcoming refugees in the Greater Washington D.C. Jewish community. As the constitutionality of President Trump’s Muslim ban is debated in federal court, the Jewish community is coming together to voice its strong opposition to the vilification of refugees. The #JewsForRefugees Assembly, organized by HIAS – the world’s oldest, and only Jewish, refugee organization – in partnership with Adas Israel Congregation and the Jewish Community Relations Council of Greater Washington, will feature remarks from elected officials, policy experts, community leaders, and refugees.
Participants will raise up their voices together to demand that America’s doors stay open to refugees fleeing violence and persecution.
