WATCH: A Year Later, Fighting to Help Refugees

A year ago, on January 27, 2017, on Holocaust Remembrance Day of all days, President Trump banned refugees from entering the United States.

The executive action sparked widespread outrage and protests across the country, and set off a year of legal battles, ongoing demonstrations in support of refugees, and new levels of uncertainty for those promised safety in the United States.

One year on, amidst the largest global refugee crisis since World War II, the administration continues to take actions that erode the United States’ historic protections for refugees.
