HIAS Welcomes the Election of Dianne Lob as Chair-elect of the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations

HIAS enthusiastically welcomes the election of our former chair Dianne Lob to her position as Chair-elect of the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations, the umbrella organization consisting of the top volunteer and professional leaders from most of the country's leading Jewish groups. Lob was the first woman to serve as Chair of HIAS, from 2016 to 2019, and will be only the third to chair the Conference of Presidents.

Mark Hetfield, president and CEO of HIAS, said: "Dianne was an outstanding leader and partner as HIAS endured one of the most turbulent times in our recent history, when we had to face a global refugee crisis accompanied by a global resurgence of nationalism, xenophobia, Islamophobia and anti-Semitism, culminating in the attack on the Tree of Life synagogue in Pittsburgh. Dianne led us through all of this and HIAS emerged stronger than ever. All of us at HIAS are convinced that Dianne will lead the Conference of Presidents to a place where its members can work closer together in a spirit of unity and respect."

HIAS Board Chair Robert Aronson added: "Dianne will bring to the Conference of Presidents vision, wisdom, passion, resolve, commitment, and an uncanny ability to recognize each member's contributions to the community."
