Welcome Corps: One Year of Private Sponsorship of Refugees in the United States

Join HIAS in marking the first anniversary of the Welcome Corps, an initiative that allows everyday Americans to privately sponsor refugee newcomers to the United States.

Private sponsors are already welcoming refugees with HIAS through the Welcome Corps program. Learn how you can welcome a refugee through blind matching or by sponsoring someone you know.

This expansion of refugee resettlement enables more refugees to find safety and build new lives in communities across the U.S. It also creates opportunities for everyday Americans to play a meaningful, direct role in refugee resettlement and helps strengthen communities by welcoming newcomers.

During the hour-long info session, you’ll get to:

• Learn more about sponsor and refugee eligibility requirements;
• Learn about the application process;
• Learn what resettlement services sponsors are responsible for providing once refugees arrive in the U.S., and how HIAS supports and guides sponsors through this process;
• Hear from a former sponsor who will provide a firsthand look at what it is like to welcome newcomers through private sponsorship.
