Since mid-April 2023, Sudan has seen ongoing, devastating violence, in which conflict between rival military factions has killed hundreds, injured thousands, and forced more than one million people to flee their homes in search of safety. UNHCR estimates that more than 100,000 people fleeing the conflict have crossed Sudan’s western border into Eastern Chad, where HIAS has had a presence for nearly 20 years. HIAS is on the ground now providing aid and emergency humanitarian intervention to support the newly arrived refugees.

Join HIAS Vice President for Community Engagement Merrill Zack to hear a full report from HIAS Chad Country Director, Roch Souabedet and HIAS Senior Director for Emergency and Humanitarian Programs James Orlando on the situation and how HIAS is providing aid and protection for displaced Sudanese.
