We’re living in a moment of extreme difficulty for displaced people worldwide. In honor of World Refugee Day and Pride Month, join HIAS to celebrate the impact of lifesaving programs that support refugees in rebuilding their lives.

Featured speakers include:

  • Isabel Burton, Senior Director for Community Engagement Programs and Initiatives, HIAS
  • Zia Saberi, HIAS Welcome Circle Program Participant
  • Marie Ange Laroche, Haitian Case Manager, Jewish Family Service of Western Massachusetts
  • Louis Sidigu, LGBTQ Protection Officer, HIAS Kenya

This celebration of refugee perseverance and resilience will feature Zia’s journey from Afghanistan to Denver, Colorado; Marie Ange’s work helping newly arrived Haitians find housing and socio-economic and legal support in Western Massachusetts; and Louis’ efforts to ensure LGBTQ individuals are able to pursue their potential, free from violence, and gender-related oppression.
