HIAS is thrilled to announce our national partnership with the upcoming Amal Walks Across America journey across the United States. Little Amal — whose name means ‘hope’ in Arabic — is a 12-foot puppet of a refugee Syrian girl. From all corners of the globe, people have welcomed her with open arms and hearts — and we’re excited to welcome her to the U.S. this fall, from September 7 – November 5, 2023. 

Journeying from Boston to San Diego, Little Amal will meet 1,000+ artists at 100+ events in 35 towns and cities. Her U.S. tour will shine a light on stories of refugees, immigrants and displaced people, and the communities that welcome them. Please join us in welcoming her.
