S.O.S. "Save Our Seniors"
Due to lengthy bureaucratic backlogs extending the citizenship process, elderly and disabled Jewish refugees are at risk of losing their Supplemental Security Income (SSI), a life-sustaining public assistance program that provides basic monthly support to people who are age 65 or older, disabled, or blind. By 2010, 48,000 vulnerable migrants across the country will lose their eligibility for this vital program.
